Manager in the Clinical Abstraction department at Syapse. She is an Independent Advisor for the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), on the National Cancer Registrars Week planning committee and a part of the Membership Committee for NCRA.
Ashley Maxey is a former radiation therapist who decided to switch fields in the midst of her own cancer journey. She currently works at Inova and concentrates on prostate and breast cancer cases. She also shares responsibility of inputting radiation codes for the five facilities under the Inova umbrella. She has presented for NCRA, the state of Michigan, and the state of Maine.
Oncology Clinical Research Nurse/ Scientist in the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute. A PhD nurse with a research interest in interprofessional approaches to enhance symptom management and cancer care delivery.
Christopher Sampson works for Hartford Healthcare is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP®) with over 10 years’ experience involving clinical/biomedical data management to ensure consistency, integrity and accuracy based on project specific guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Sheri has 25 years of experience in the field of Cancer Registry. Currently the Public Health Service Manager for the CT Tumor Registry. Prior to starting at the CT Tumor Registry she has 16 years of registry management experience, multiple years of abstracting experience. I am currently the Education Director for the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) and a member of the NCRA Mentoring Committee and Program Committee.
Dr. Gonsalves is the Principal Investigator of the Connecticut Tumor Registry, the state's central registry. She has worked at CT DPH since 2007. Prior to that she was the Associate Director of Research and Information at a central registry in the United Kingdom.
Epidemiologist, CT State Central Registry. Joined the Connecticut Tumor Registry as an Epidemiologist in December 2017. Previously she worked at Wake Forest Baptist Health as a biostatistician and at the California Cancer Registry as a Research Scientist.
Associate director for clinical abstraction at Syapse. Ronda holds an MS in Biology/Bioinformatics from Georgia State University and an MS in Healthcare Management and Informatics from Kennesaw State University. Beyond Syapse, she dedicates her time to volunteering with the Georgia Tumor Registrars Association and NCRA. As the chair of NCRW and an active member of several committees, including Informatics and Membership
Dr. Kelly Merriman attended Colorado State University in Pueblo, Colorado. She completed a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in both Biology and Chemistry. She obtained her Doctorate in Epidemiology at UT School of Public Health after working with her Master’s in Public Health in HIV/AIDS research.
Dr. Merriman is an adjunct Assistant Professor at the McWilliams Graduate School of Biomedical Informatics and teaches a course in public health and informatics each semester. In addition, she has been employed at MD Anderson Cancer Center for the last 30 years, currently directing the Cancer Registry department. She has published extensively with clinical faculty using Cancer Registry data, authoring over 30 articles. She led a subset of Informatics committee members in publishing a manuscript entitled “Evolution of the Cancer Registrar in the Era of Informatics” in JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics in 2021. She is currently the chair of the NCRA Informatics Committee and is actively involved with the Texas Cancer Registry Advisory Committee, serving as past chair. She is very passionate about cancer registries and informatics throughout the US and Internationally

A biostatistician/Oncology Data Specialist Certified (ODS-C) with 10+ years of data analysis, abstracting cancer cases, quality cancer data, CoC/NAPBC accreditation programs, quality cancer tools. RCRS, NCDB Survival), data presentation and reporting statistical results. Strong investigative, complex problem solving, and analytical skills in cancer registry field; acquired extensive professional training in cancer registry
